We sometimes hand out coupon codes — promotional discounts, loyalty rewards, friend-of-DMU deals. This page covers what they look like, where to redeem them, and how to see ones you've already used.
What a coupon code is
A short string we send you (e.g. WELCOME2025 or FRIENDS10) that applies a discount when you redeem it. Each code has its own rules, set when we created it:
- A percent off or a fixed amount off.
- A duration — applies once, applies for a fixed number of months, or applies forever to the subscription it's redeemed against.
- A redemption limit — how many times the code as a whole can be used (e.g. "first 50 customers"), or how many times you can use it.
- A scope — sometimes a code applies to specific products only.
We'll tell you the specifics when we send you the code.
Where to redeem a code
Coupon codes are redeemed at Stripe Checkout — either:
- During a marketplace purchase you're making yourself (see Additional orders). The Stripe Checkout screen has a "Add promotion code" link near the payment summary; expand it, paste the code, and the discount applies before you pay.
There's no separate "redeem a code" button anywhere else in the portal — the code is something you apply at the moment of paying for the relevant purchase.
Coupons we apply for you
Sometimes we apply a discount directly to your account without giving you a code to type — for example, as part of a renegotiated contract, or as a goodwill gesture if something went wrong. In those cases:
- The discount appears on the next invoice as a line item or as a reduction in the totals.
- The subscription it applies to shows up under Subscriptions with Coupon Codes on the Coupon Codes page (under Billing in the menu, Admin role only).
- You don't have to do anything — it's already applied.
The Coupon Codes page
Open Coupon Codes from the customer menu (under Billing — Admin role only). The page has two sections:
Subscriptions with Coupon Codes
Active subscriptions where a discount is currently applied. Shows the subscription, the coupon details (percent / amount off, duration), and which promotion code (if any) was used to redeem it.
If you don't have any subscriptions on a discount, the section says so explicitly.
Past Coupons
Every coupon you've redeemed in the past, even if it's no longer active. For each: the code, the discount, how many times you used it, the redemption limit, and what product it applied to. Useful for your records when checking what an old invoice was discounted by.
Common questions
"I have a code — where do I enter it?"
At checkout — see Where to redeem a code above. If the code is for a service you don't buy through the marketplace (e.g. a project we'd quote separately), let us know when you reply with your acceptance and we'll apply the discount on our side.
"My code didn't work"
Most common reasons:
- Expired. Codes have an expiry date or a redemption limit; one of them was reached.
- Wrong scope. The code only applies to specific products (e.g. SEO plans only); the item in your cart isn't one of them.
- Already used. Some codes are one-per-customer.
Reply to the email we sent the code in and we'll explain — or send you a fresh code if appropriate.
"Can I get a code?"
We don't run public coupon promotions on the portal. Codes go out via direct communication — usually because we've offered one in a conversation, or because you're on a campaign list. If you're hoping for a discount on a specific purchase, the right conversation is with business@dmu.gr.
