# Welcome Email

After we create your account, you receive a welcome email. This
page covers what to look for and what to do if it doesn't arrive.

## What it looks like

- **Subject:** *Welcome to DMU Portal*
- **From:** the DMU portal mail address
- **Body:** a short confirmation that your account is ready, plus a
**Login to DMU Portal** button that opens
  [portal.dmu.gr](https://portal.dmu.gr).

The email does **not** contain a password or a magic sign-in link.
The button is a convenience — clicking it is the same as typing
the URL yourself. You set your own password during
[first sign-in](first-sign-in), with a verification code we email
you at that point.

## When to expect it

We send the welcome email at the moment your account is created
— usually right after we've agreed your project goes ahead and
the team needs you to have portal access (to view a proposal,
accept it, see your first invoice, and so on).

## I can't find it

Try these in order:

1. **Check spam / junk.** Most missing welcomes are filtered there.
2. **Search for the subject line** *Welcome to DMU Portal* across
all folders — not just inbox.
3. **Confirm we have the right email address.** If you gave us a
different address than the one you're checking, the email is
   waiting in the other inbox.
4. **Ask us to resend.** Reply to any thread with our team, or
write to the address on the
   [How to reach us](../help-and-support/how-to-reach-us) page.
We can also re-create the account under a different email if
   the original isn't usable.

You don't strictly need the welcome email to sign in — going
directly to [portal.dmu.gr](https://portal.dmu.gr) and using your
account's email address works exactly the same way.
